t2b and Devoteam announced today that t2b is taking over the Architecture & Integration unit in Switzerland from Devoteam per 1st May 2021

Devoteam, headquartered in Paris, is a leader in digital transformation with 8000 consultants in EMEA, specializing in the main Cloud platforms (ServiceNow, AWS, Google, Microsoft, and Salesforce).

“In that context, our Swiss Architecture unit was too small, and we were looking for a good solution for our Swiss employees. t2b with its core business on architecture & integration was a natural partner”, said Bert Schaap, senior VP of Devoteam. The Swiss Devoteam entity will continue to focus on the ServiceNow cloud platform.

Patrick Toenz, t2b’s CEO said “I am excited for this opportunity to extend our team of senior architects with the new colleagues from Devoteam. We also hope that Devoteam’s Swiss customers will see the added value of t2b’s strong focus on enterprise, data, and integration architecture.”

t2b has been serving Swiss multinational customers in Enterprise Architecture, Data Architecture & Governance, and Integration Architecture since 2001. Currently, the majority of its 25 senior architects are working on Information & Knowledge Management initiatives at t2b’s Pharma customers and on enabling the Swiss Government’s digital transformation with integration architecture & API platform design.

Dear Members,

as announced during our General Assembly, our aim is to provide a monthly opportunity for interesting talks on Cybersecurity, Compliance, and Awareness issues.

We are happy to invite you to our next online event which will take place online on Thursday 10th of September, 17.30-19:30 through WebEx.

17:30 - 18:30. Patrick Toenz, CEO, t2b AG

S1: CISO’s dream: how to encrypt any data easily, selectively & consistently

Summary: Every company is using or wants to use Office365, G Suite, AWS, Azure etc.  But moving data to the cloud has a risk and Patrick will show how you can easily mitigate that with an encryption gateway. An encryption gateway allows even Swiss government units to put personal data on the public cloud – as the data is encrypted at rest and in transit. With the keys and algorithms of your choice. Of course, the proposed approach also works for Intranet applications. A dream?

Bio: Patrick Toenz is working in IT for 35 years, in 2001 he created t2b - specialised on pragmatic Enterprise, Integration, Data & Security Architecture. t2b’s headquarter is in in Basel and they have an office in Bern since 2014. With his team of senior architects, Patrick is supporting Swiss Top500 Companies & Government units in those areas.

18:30-19:30: Raoul ("Nobody") Chiesa, ICT Security Senior Expert, Visionary Entrepreneur, Key Note Speaker, Cybersecurity Adviser and CyberGlobetrotter

S2: “The CISO's dilemma”

Summary: insight about having a strategy vs having a technology, with the usual plethora of anecdotes and examples.

Bio:  Raoul Chiesa starts his web adventure at the age of twelve. He first sneaked into military and government institutions and banks. Internationally famous, he affirms his role and shows his skills by sneaking into Banca d’Italia in 1995. Shortly after, SCO (Central Operative Section of the Italian Police), on a FBI hint, arrests him with thirteen different charges. After persuading the enquirers of his good faith, he spends four months in house detention. Finally, this event forced him out of the dark web and start working on cybersecurity. He defines himself as an “ethical hacker” and becomes the European leader in cybersecurity helping several governments facing web-related issues.

Please do not forget to register for the event so that we keep track of the participants and submit the corresponding 2 CPEs to (ISC)2 afterwards.

We will share the WebEx link with those registered through email before the event.

Looking forward to seeing you on the 10th of September
Best regards,
The (ISC)2 Chapter Switzerland Board

Our best universities are working on Corona research - and you can support them like t2b does:

keep safe!

your t2b team

we are most happy that one of our senior architects was selected by one of our big Pharma customers as lead for their strategic data initiative!

This is a real core business transformation programm - we wish the team a good start & a successful first phase!

t2b's Quality Management System passed the ISO9001 audit!

when working on customer sites, we most often have to adhere to our valued customers' Quality Management Systems. Documents we produce for them are stored on customers' infrastructure and the corresponding processes are documented there.

For t2b projects, internal process, as well for our consulting and architecture work we also follow our t2b QMS processes, which "live" on our Office365 Sharepoint environment (called bluediks) for the bigger part.

We are proud that we passed our initial audit without any findings!

You find our certificate here

Many thanks to the team!

yet another Federal Department entered into a frame agreement with t2b for architecture consulting services.

Looking forward to working with the ISCeco!

t2b received the frame agreements for supporting projects with architecture consulting from 2 different federal departments DETEC (german: UVEK) and FOITT (german: BIT) .

We are happy to be their trusted partners and are looking forward to interesting projects!

one of our colleague was in charge for the architecture of a major project in a bank in Brussels for the last 3 years. Welcome back !

Yenlo is triggering stage 2 of its expansion strategy and buys 100% the shares of our joint venture in Switzerland. A new manager for Yenlo DACH will be appointed soon.

Cooperation between Yenlo and t2b will continue, but Patrick Toenz no longer is managing Yenlo Switzerland.

another industry customer decided to move to the flexible EA repository from our partner Orbus. iServer convices with a VISIO Frontend well integrated into it's repository.

one of t2b classic services: IT Planning in merger & aquisition situations. In this case the customer had to find out where the overlaps are between the 2 companies are:

  • in the business processes
  • in application functionality
  • and in the data

Based on this analysis a roadmap was defined and the application & data migration planed and started.

The had work is still to come of course ....

t2b helped to improve the airline's business processes, data analysis and reporting capabilities - from the classic DWH/reporting solutions to the new self-service BI capabilities.

Problems with data? ask t2b.

Our Senior consultant Alain Willimann successfully completed the complex transfer of an existing DataWarehouse from an old to a new core asset management system.

The project involved data migration, structural adaptations that needed deep business understanding of complex asset management products and of course data verification, new reports and analysis.

Congratulations to Alain - that was tough work well done!

t2b and our sister company Yenlo will participate with workshop at the ch/open cloud day .

APIs are hot. If you working in IT, you cannot do without APIs. They are the only way to communicate data to partners and they are your only option to offer customers tailor-made services in real-time. All major companies like Google, Facebook but also insurances, museums and government agencies (like the geo.admin.ch) are using APIs to provide access to their systems and data. At this workshop, you will learn how to create and manage your own API with the Open Source WSO2 API Manager.

Our SAP AIF (Application Integration Framework) experts completed the project for a global logistcs supplier!

The company had started in 2014 migrating local SAP systems, from multiple offices around the world, into one, global SAP ECC solution. The main goal of this massive undertaking was to have global FI/CO system, where all operations would be posted on a close-to-online basis. Such a large in scale project leads to many challenges.

One of them was standardizing and reengineering the interfaces between SAP ECC and other systems.

with t2b's help , the customer decided that

  • SAP AIF add-on to SAP ECC should become a main point of monitoring of all interfaces involved,
  • Entire business logic behind the interfaces (e.g. DB lookups, business validations, value mapping tables etc.) should be moved to SAP AIF,
  • SAP PI should only handle connectivity, simple structural conversion and routing of the messages,
  • SAP PI mapping should be simplified to significantly decrease number of errors on that stage,
  • Where possible, direct connection between connecting systems can be introduced, skipping SAP PI as a mediator,
  • More advanced mappings should be done in SAP AIF, and hence errors on that stage should be handled in SAP AIF as well.

During the project also enhanced monitoring with BPO – Business Process Observer – was introduced. This increased the visibility of the data flows and allowed the team to add automated notification to business process responsible when

Compared to the previous solution, the new architecture:

  • -        Clearly separates business logic/rules on the ERP side with AIF and technical connectivity into the SAP PI/PO middleware
  • -        Gives each business process responsible visibility of his dataflows via a graphical Dashboard
  • -        Gives back the control over the data to business, so that the users can fix data errors from partner systems themselves
  • -        Therefore, increases the speed with which (data) problems can be fixed while decreasing the workload on the IT support team – and related cost
  • -        Takes out the pressure of problem analysis and fixing from the overall organization

-> we believe that AIF is needed by every SAP customer to make the dataflows in and out of the SAP systems managable.

Yenlo Switzerland - Luzern Luzern and Basel, Switzerland and Schiphol-Rijk, The Netherlands, 3 January 2017- As of 1 January 2017 Yenlo and t2b will join their forces by launching the new entity Yenlo Switzerland AG. Yenlo Switzerland will be providing services based on the open source integration platform WSO2 in Switzerland.

Yenlo’s CEO Ruben van der Zwan: “We are already providing our services to Swiss customers from our offices in the Netherlands and Germany for several years. We’re rapidly growing and we are very happy to have found a local partner that can bring Architecture, Integration and Management skills into our joint venture”.

t2b’s CEO Patrick Toenz: “t2b is quite new into open source products. With the new “Digital Transformation” trend (API, ESB, Analytics, Identity & Access Management and IoT) in mind, our technical architects have analyzed the WSO2 platform and were very enthusiastic. They found it better than commercial products in most, if not all, respects. It is lean, fast, extendible; world-class support and very cost effective. Basically, a “no-brainer” for any company with integration requirements. I am happy that we can partner up with Yenlo, who is WSO2 Premier Partner and has a lot of implementation experience with this innovative platform”.

Patrick Toenz will manage Yenlo Switzerland locally, whereas the Yenlo founders will preside the board. The joint venture has access to the 85+ integration experts of Yenlo, and a direct link to the developers of WSO2.
